Overview

The school Brainisland International School was registered under Companies and Allied Matters Act in March, 2017. It is a co-educational private school situated at 8B/9 Ada George Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. The School consists of Early Year Foundations (Creche & Nursery), Elementary (Year 1-6) and High School (Year 7-12). It started in a five bedroom apartment at 25 Nsirim Road, Off Ada George Road, Rumueme, Port Harcourt. The School which was initially established as a daycare and after school for children later metamorphosed to a elementary school with a formidable foundation and holistic commitment for discipline, hard work and character transformation. The school grew in limps and bounds. There was astronomical rise in the enrolment of children into the school. The apartment at Rumueme could not comfortably accommodate the teeming number of children desirous for western education. This invariably became a source of concern to Management and Parents. This obvious challenge prompted Management to source for expansion and relocation of the school to its permanent site at 8B Ada George. There was the innate desire by Management to build a high School for the children graduating from the Elementary. This was at the front burner. Management initiated a well-thought policy to actualize this dream. It was to build a high school that is sustainable and enduring, a unique school that is parent/student centred and indeed a school that conforms to the norms, values and aspirations of society. In September 2018, the secondary section was officially established. The school is open to students of diverse backgrounds and it is without religious, cultural and ethnic bias. The school has in its kitty arrays of technocrats, astute administrators and crops of selfless professionally dedicated staff that cater for the moral and educational needs of the students. The entire Brainisland International School is situated in one premises. The structure is tastefully furnished with the state of the arts facilities. The school offers all pupils and students a unique opportunity to navigate, discover and positively harness their potentials. It is a school that enhances self-development. It is heart-warming to note that the school has been approved to present candidates for Rivers State Basic School Certificate Examinations (BSCE) and the Senior School Certificate Examinations organized by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). These examinations have been conducted in the school with students emerging with flying colours. The pressing demand from parents made it absolutely necessary for a residential provision to be made for students. This is a monumental landmark in annals of the history of the school as students are comfortably accommodated in self-contained apartments at the premises of the college. Management has also deemed it imperative to incorporate Cambridge Curriculum in which the British General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and Checkpoint will be administered in the School. The essence is to accommodate students who are interested in English National Curriculum Education regardless of nationality or background. This will invariably afford the children the opportunity to continue their secondary education in the United Kingdom when they leave the country at their Prime. It is also much easier for Cambridge Certified Students to gain admission into a British University and it is what the Brainisland Cambridge Examination is designed to offer. The school is established with the objective of educating the total child through rigorous academic programmes using the Nigeria and British curricula. The School is established with a clear policy of excellence in education.
