Our school is committed to maximizing student engagement in all key learning areas by providing stimulating learning experiences. We place particular emphasis on the mastery of Literacy and Numeracy. The school strives to create and maintain a caring and safe environment, which relies on positive interaction to promote the well being of each individual and group. Risk taking is encouraged and accepted as an integral part of confidence and competence. Such a learning environment fosters freedom of expression and respect for others’ opinions. It helps children to make their own decisions, to do what they believe to be right, while respecting the rights of others. Mission and Vision To create a dynamic learning environment that equips all students with the knowledge and skills needed to achieve personal success, within a safe and caring environment. Positive human relationships are developed through specific teaching of morals, etiquette, human values and social skills. These specific skills assist us to acknowledge and respect diversity within our ever changing society. We acknowledge and celebrate the contributions made by students, staff, parents, and the wider community, which enhance the learning environment at The Cavendish School. Teaching Philosophy The Cavendish School, while adopting a wide range of teaching strategies and practice, is dedicated to a policy of developmental teaching.
