Our fundamental belief at CLIS is that every child is capable of learning and that children must be built as whole persons in order to be equipped with the knowledge, character, and skills needed to become significant contributors to society. We have a low student/teacher ratio to promote student/teacher learning relationship, build on areas of strength and to easily identify and remediate students learning needs. Our rigorous academic program challenges and stretches each student. The CLIS Team works together to use a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate individual learning styles, overcome weaknesses and build on strengths. We conduct consistent curriculum reviews based on need assessments to keep our students in sync with a fast-changing world on basic content and instructional practice. We strategically update hardware, software and other tools to reflect our rapidly changing reality and technological world as these actively support our teaching and learning. Learning at CLIS is completely hands-on and student centered as they are actively engaged in the learning process through experiences that promote analytical and critical thinking, risk taking, investigation, individual creativity, cooperation, and collaboration.
