Overview

At Haggai Zuriel School, we believe that a child needs to play, learn and grow. The child needs to feel he belongs to his environment. Children develop a sense of belonging when they feel accepted, develop attachments and trust those that care for them which actually influence their developmental pathways.   Our goal at Haggai Zuriel School has been to provide our preschool with a clean, safe and healthy developmentally and appropriate learning environment where they are encouraged to develop a lifelong love for learning. Our classrooms are well arranged with theme related activities in learning which is designed to encourage children’s cognitive, social, emotional and physical development. Encouraging the development of fine and motor skills in preschool is an essential goal for preschool teachers. Preschool children need to be able to grasp and maneuver a pencil correctly. We design intentional activities that develop agile mobility which helps the children explore their environment and learn independence. Preschool is an ideal time to stimulate cognitive development and help preschool children gain basic competences as this will incite an excitement for learning and help the children become proficient in simple literacy, solving problems and other basic knowledge. At Haggai, we emphasize language development as our main goal because this brings learning to life for our pupils in the preschool. This also develops an understanding of words, sounds, letters and concept and the ability to communicate and ask question too. We also encourage a love for reading by incorporating dedicated reading time. The children are engaged in role play to develop their imaginations and provide context for stories. Our children are giving the opportunity to participate in shared and independent learning experiences as the curriculum promotes conversation and language development while building social skills, promoting independence, enhancing pre-math, pre-reading skills and encouraging creativity.
