Kogbodi International School is a private educational establishment located in Ughelli, Delta State Nigeria. The institution currently offers Secondary, Basic, Nusery and Creche programs. Mrs. Philomena Ebosa Kogbodi (late), was the forerunner of the Ughelli North Local Government Council Nursery and Primary School for than eight(8) years. Although the school was doing well, she was unfulfilled. She hated the bureaucratic decision making in the Civil Service. Consequently, she wanted a private school where she would put her knowledge and skills into action. This was how Kogbodi Nursery/Primary School was conceived and born on 1st September,1986. Since the obsession was quality education, she resisted all pressures to admit pupils in 1986, beyond Primary class 4. At that time, with Miss Usinefe Obodo as Head Girl, these pupils were carefully prepared for two years, before the first batch was enrolled for the First Primary School Leaving Certificate Examination in 1989. Expectedly, the result was amazing. Out of the 16 pupils registered, 13 made distinction and the remaining 3 made merit passes. This became the standard below which the school must never fall, and this was how the consciousness for quality education was entrenched in all our academic programmes even after her death on 14th May, 1990.
