LEGATEE SCHOOL was established in November 1st, 2018 by Oluremi Aribisala Legacy Foundation (OALF), the Promoter of LEGATEE SCHOOL had been actively involved in many unique and branded programs such as: Funderland, a branded family edutainment center established in Lagos in 2014; Christian Youth Park (CYP) established in 1993 for transformation of lives and alleviation of poverty amongst Lagos Island peri-urban households especially children and youth; Annual Summer Leadership & Character Day Camps 1994 ; Prince Samuel Adeleke Scholarship Scheme 2019 and Florence Music School 2019 etc. Legatee School was built on three pillars: First Pillar of Proven and quality Education resulting in the development of highly capable learners; Second pillar of Character education through discipline, as well as learnt lessons on honesty, love of neighbor, hard work, generosity, patriotism, courage, kindness to animals etc. Third pillar of Legacy &Life skills education through the passing down of values, not money, and in so doing be a catalyst for social change and a powerful life tool for learning from the past, living in the present, and building the future. LEGATEE School is a fulfillment of OALFs commitment to put character development at the top of the nation’s educational agenda in order to reevaluate school’s role in teaching values. LEGATEE School kick starts the beginning of a new character education movement, one which restores “good character” to its historical place as the central desirable outcome of the school’s moral enterprise. No one knows yet how broad or deep this movement is; we have no studies to tell us what percentages of schools are making what kind of effort. But something significant is in the winds. The development of personal values happens during our early life and whether we realize it or not, they influence everything we do or don’t do. Just like the biggest part of an iceberg is beneath the water and determines where it goes, our children’s values determine their journey throughout their whole life. Their influence comes from their values and life purpose rather than any emphasis on their success and wealth.
