New Era Model School

Overview

New Era Model (Secondary) School was established on 9th September, 2003 at the school’s permanent site. 97, Jakpa Road, Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State. It got its full accreditation by the West African Examination Council (WAEC) and the National Examination Council (NECO) in 2009. The secondary school comprises of two section-the Upper Basic School. Basic 7 – Basic 9 and the Senior Secondary Classes of SS 1 – SS3. The curriculum of the Upper Basic School is both academic and pre-vocational. We teach all the basic subjects which will enable learners at this level acquire knowledge and skills for higher education. The curriculum of the senior secondary school is comprehensive and designed to broaden the learners knowledge and overall outlook. We have a standard and well- equipped laboratories for the teaching and learning of the sciences and other vocational subjects. There is also a well-stocked library and a functional ICT laboratory to enhance learning activities in the school. Besides, there is an e-learning facility in the school’s website which helps to stimulate teaching and learning. The secondary school has a crop of dedicated teachers who are seasoned professionals in their various subject areas. The teacher’s commitment and enthusiasm to duty coupled with the serene and conducive learning environment that abound, have motivated the learners over the years to be outstanding. We can confidently say that New Era Model (Secondary) School, Effurun Is one of the best secondary schools in Delta State as can be attested to by the quality of our students.
