NexGen Academy

Overview

NexGen Academy was founded in 2013 by a group of local founders envisioning an ethos of inclusivity, alternative value-based education which is both high quality and accessible to a diverse community of learners and teachers in Kenya. The name “NexGen” was derived from the word Next Generation resounds with the aim of developing students who are the next generation of our society. After establishing NexGen kindergarten section, parents/guardians expressed their keen interest and desire to having their children continue with Primary education with NexGen Academy which led to the establishment of the NexGen Primary section in 2016. As NexGen continued to grow to meet the demand from Parents/Guardians, the management decided to separate the different age groups into different branches which meant that we now had 3 NexGen schools in one locality. This led to the “themed” referencing of the schools for ease of identification by students, parents/guardians, Staff & Stakeholders. Toddlers Section/Reception - Asili, Swahili word meaning Original Kindergarten Section – Johari, Swahili word meaning Gem Primary Section – Almasi,Swahili word meaning Diamond Our Vision Statement NexGen is an integrated school, where we provide the foundation and continuous development of academics and spirituality within a loving, joyful, and caring environment. Our Mission Development of the potential of all children Provide all the required guidance for children to explore their potential in all academic, cultural, and sporting events Encourage children to be self-motivated, to strive to do their best in everything they do and to have confidence to take risks. We ask much of their strengths and we support them in their weaknesses Living and propagating the belief that every child is special and has a right to good education. Encourage children to develop a personal faith in Allah that will guide them throughout their lives Our Goals To develop in each child a knowledge, understanding and respect for academics and spirituality To recruit, develop and retain the highest quality personnel both teaching and support To create, sustain and develop an environment, both physical and emotional, that is conducive to learning To prepare children for their next stage of learning in an environment that encourages high standards of academic achievement and a love of learning To continually move forward, through innovation, creativity, and endeavor.
