Nifty Steps College began operation as a secondary school in the 2013/2014 academic year with six (6) students who had just graduated from Nifty Steps Primary School. The school is currently a day secondary school, but there are plans to erect boarding facilities to meet the demands of several parents who want their children in a Nifty Steps College boarding house. Be that as it may, our current day facilities are among the best among secondary schools. They boast of spacious classrooms, very clean toilets, as well as fully equipped science laboratories Our mission at Nifty Steps College is to provide a distinctive brand of education, aimed at molding the student to be a self-confident, inquiring, positive and tolerant person with a well-rounded character and an independent mind, all of which should enable him/her to contribute immensely to society at large. Our education philosophy is better understood from the school’s commitment to positively shape the consciousness of every student that we guide through the learning process. In that vein, we emphasize that every student understand well the motto of the school which is cast in the Latin phrase, crescat scientia; vita excolatur; meaning that education or acquisition of knowledge enhances the quality of life. We teach our students the symbolic significance of all images in the school’s crest; stressing the implication of each image, and how like the eagle in the crest, for instance, the students are required to strive for excellence in all that they do in present and future climes and shores, carrying their acquired knowledge with them like an all-conquering sword.
