Overview

St. Bakhita Elite School was established back in the year 2014. The school started with two children and was known as St. Josephine Bakhita Kindergarten and School. The name was later changed to St. Bakhita Elite school in 2015 in the year 2014, the kindergarten section implemented the 8-4-4 curriculum, however after a study done by the school in the year 2014/15, The school decided to intro-duce the Montessori curriculum to fill in the gaps that were there in the 8-4-4 curriculum. The Montessori Curriculum is an innovative learning framework that incorporates specific learning outcomes and knowledge skills that align with children's developmental needs and interests Besides Art, Music, taekwondo, Ballet, skating and swimming lessons were also incorporated in the system to complement the curriculum. Through the above, the school has been able to identify and nature different talents in our learners. Job Orare, a STD. 4 pupil, is one of the great talents we have been able to nature and now he is among the best in playing the piano. We remain committed to producing all rounded and wholistic students who are ready to conquer the world. The school population has also shown steady growth over the years as shown on the graph, the steady growth is attributed to the commitment and hard work among the school staff, directors and the PTC. The PTC has worked together with the school administration to set policies and standards that have set us apart from the rest since its formation in 2017. Despite the growth, we still maintain our PROMISE of having a teacher to pupil ratio of 1:15. The primary section began in 2017 with 4 students and 3 teachers, to date the section has 27 pupils and 5 teachers The section offers competency-based curriculum and is fully committed to the implementation of the same in a special way. Inquiry-based learning strategies • Differentiation where classroom tasks are allocated according to the learner’s ability so that no one is left out. • Pupil centered learning • Leadership oriented learning • Using technology in the classroom • Literacy among others. The primary section now has a library, a table tennis room and the kids also enjoy playing chess and scrabble. In 2018, the school began a process of re-branding, this has seen the staff undergo training to become the brand Ambassadors.
