Winneba Secondary School was founded in 1949 by A.J. Dowona Hammond [former Minister of Education] who was mandated by Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah to establish a secondary school in Winneba. The school offers a 4-years Senior High School programme which prepares Junior High School graduates for tertiary education and the world of work. Our population has grown from the initial 21 students to 1,600 comprising 800 boys and 800 girls. Our corresponding staff strength is 120 [both teaching and non-teaching]
